Sandy Jardine, one of Rangers most beloved former players, received help and support from Maggie’s during his battle with cancer and in his memory the Foundation donated £25,000 to the charity in 2015.

The donation funded a comprehensive programme for men with a diagnosis of cancer called ‘Making a Start’ which included tailored exercise sessions, expert nutrition advice, stress management techniques, benefits advice and help with talking about cancer to family and friends.

The funds also supported a pilot scheme to extend the opening hours of Maggie’s Glasgow Gartnavel, allowing people with cancer who have returned to work and family and friends visiting the hospital in the evening, to drop into Maggie’s for support.
