Play On The Pitch At Ibrox – On Sale Now!
Thu 27th April 2023
Have you ever dreamt of following in the footsteps of your heroes and playing on the pitch at Ibrox? The Rangers Charity Foundation is holding four special fan matches at Ibrox on Tuesday 30 May and you can sign up now to play HERE.
The Foundation is looking for just 120 players to fill eight squads of 15 so get in quickly to make sure you don’t lose out on this dream experience.
It is first come first served and those who secure their place will follow in the footsteps of legends by playing on the famous pitch which has seen the likes of Gascoigne, Laudrup and McCoist entertain the Rangers faithful.
Players will enjoy a true First Team matchday experience from start to finish, beginning with entering Ibrox via the iconic Bill Struth Main Stand front door, getting changed in the official dressing rooms, running down the tunnel onto the pitch and playing a 90-minute game with match officials. There is even the opportunity to enjoy a cash bar with your team mates and your guests in our Members Lounge after the match.
To secure your place now, simply click HERE and fill in your details. The cost to play is £325, with a £165 non-refundable deposit required when booking. The remainder can be paid right up until matchday on 30 May. Players can either choose to pay the fee themselves or fundraise. Those who fundraise an additional £150 on top of the match fee will qualify for a True Blue Hero Medal which will be presented at a reception at Ibrox later in the year.
Players can choose to play at either 9.00am, 12.30pm, 4pm or 7.30pm and can pick their position and whether to play in the Home or Away side, with fifteen spots available on each. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and are likely to sell out quickly. Each side will be made up of one goalkeeper, five defenders, five midfielders and four forwards. A starting 11 will be picked at random on the day for each team with a rolling substitution policy throughout the match. Rangers Community Coaches will be on hand throughout to help with warm-up, team selection and tactics.
Players will be presented with an official Rangers shirt from this season to keep and we will endeavour to provide this in your preferred size. Players on the Home side will change in the Home Dressing Room, with the Away side changing in the Away Dressing Room, which has been used by the likes of Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho and Gianluigi Buffon on some of the great Ibrox European nights.
Four guests for each player are able to come and watch from the Main Stand and after the game, a Man of the Match trophy will be awarded.
Players must be aged 16 or over and be fit and able to play a full game. Those taking part will also be required to provide their own boots and shin guards. Generic socks and shorts will be provided.
Every penny raised from our Play on the Pitch events will be used to help the Foundation continue its work in the community and with its charity partners.
The Rangers Charity Foundation is grateful to the Club for the opportunity to hold Play on the Pitch at Ibrox this season.
