New Team Talk – Football To Launch Next Week

Wed 1st March 2023

The Rangers Charity Foundation is delighted to be expanding its ‘Team Talk’ initiative by launching a new weekly ‘Team Talk – Football’ programme.

Team Talk – Football aims to support men’s physical and mental wellbeing through the power of football. This expansion of our Team Talk initiative runs every Monday, week commencing 6 March 2023. The free course takes place at the Ibrox Community Complex (opposite Ibrox Stadium) from 7pm to 9pm.

Over the course of the two-hour sessions, men can take part in games of football or just have a kickabout to work on their physical wellbeing. Participants can also drop into a mental health catch up area if they wish where they can openly discuss any struggles they may be having in a safe and supportive environment. Free tea and coffee is provided for all who attend.

With the new programme starting up Community Programmes Manager at the Foundation, Jordan Boyd said: “I’m absolutely delighted to get Team Talk – Football up and running. So far, the project has been fantastic for people attending both online and in person.

“The Football sessions will be a great environment for men to improve the physical and mental wellbeing.”

“Open to anyone over the age of 25 the sessions will provide opportunities to socialise, get out the house and have a break from the stress of day-to-day life. I have no doubt this element of the project will allow even more men to get involved, if that’s turning up for a game of football, some chat, or a bit of both everyone is welcome.”

Our Team Talk – Football sessions are open to all men over the age of 25 who wish to get active and improve their physical health or chat about their mental health.

Team Talk virtual sessions also take place every Wednesday night from 6 – 8pm and are available for all adult males. You can take part in any session, but places will be limited so please first register your interest by emailing rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk.
