Gers fans enjoy Dream Day with Team and Manager

Fri 14th December 2018

A group of Rangers fans living with terminal or life-changing illnesses were able to spend the morning with their footballing heroes, thanks to the Rangers Charity Foundation.

The Club’s official charity helps bring smiles to the faces of those who are in need of a boost, through its ‘Dream Fund’ initiative.

Guests gathered at the Hummel Training Centre in the morning and had the chance to take photographs with the First Team and Manager, before enjoying an exclusive autograph session and watching the squad train.

The group, who had all been nominated for an exclusive experience by members of the public, were then whisked off to Ibrox for a special lunch and stadium tour.

Ronnie Macleod, who lives with Motor Neurone Disease, was nominated for a Dream Day experience by his friend. Ronnie chose to bring his son, Stuart, along, who has terminal cancer.

Speaking at Ibrox, Ronnie said: “For the two of us this is the greatest day ever.”

Stuart added: “The players took so much time to speak to us and they were great for signings and photographs.

“It was just fantastic and a brilliant surprise to see the Manager come out and spend time with us as well. He was a gentleman.”

Rangers Charity Foundation Director, Connal Cochrane, commented: "The Foundation has a proud tradition of making the dreams of those in need of a boost come true and we were delighted to welcome 13 special guests to meet the Rangers First Team.

"We know the difference a day can make and hope that they all enjoyed a great day with us.

“Through the Fund, we hope to be able to give as many people as possible a lift and create special memories for individuals and families.  We’d also like to thank the fans for their support in developing and helping to fund our dream experiences.”

To be considered for a Rangers Charity Dream Fund experience children and adults must be nominated using a nomination form, which can be found online at www.rangerscharity.org.uk
