FFIT Success For Susan

Tue 8th October 2019

Susan Ramsay lost 2 stones and made friends for life at our Football Fans In Training course and is now coming regularly to our follow on programme, FFIT for Life.

She has well and truly turned her health and fitness around thanks to FFIT and even completed the Ibrox Stair Challenge for the Foundation in a brilliant time, climbing thousands of stairs in Ibrox Stadium – the equivalent of walking up and down the Empire State Building!

Susan explained that initially she was drawn to the programme because of the Rangers connection but quickly became focused on the benefits to her health she could gain: “I found out about Football Fans in Training through my friend Cathy who joined the course with me.

“We were so excited about the fact that we would be able to go to Ibrox every week and run around inside the stadium – we didn’t need to be convinced to turn up and try!

“I started in February 2019 weighing 80.4 kilo (12st 6lb).  John Joyce who ran the course, with help from Harry and Gwen, was very encouraging and knowledgeable.

“He taught us a lot about valuable topics including diet, exercise and mental health in an easy to understand and interesting way. We learned about nutrition, portion sizes and how to enjoy healthy food.”

So many FFIT participants comment about how motivating the course is, and also note the camaraderie they experience with the coaches and other participants.

Susan was no different, commenting: “Over the duration of the programme I had so much fun and made some fabulous friends. We continuously encourage each other to keep going when times are tough and we all want to keep coming back.

“At the end of the 12 weeks I exceeded all expectations. My final weight was 66.4 kilo (10st 4lb)! I look forward to every Tuesday so I can go back, so a big THANK YOU to John Joyce and Rangers Charity Foundation for the opportunity!”
