Extra date announced for Big Ibrox Sleep Outs
Wed 13th September 2017
In order to meet huge demand from supporters, the Foundation has added an additional Big Ibrox Sleep Out event in December.
Supporters can now sign up to take part on Saturday 2 December, after Thursday 30 November and Friday 1 December sold out in record time.
The additional night will follow the same format as the original two events, with those who sign up invited to spend a cold winter’s night at the Stadium with just a sleeping bag for warmth, either on the technical area down by the pitch or in the stand (under cover) if the weather is wet.
Like the Thursday and Friday events, we expect the Saturday night to be popular so those looking to take part should contact the Foundation now to sign up.
Places can be secured by calling us during office hours on 0141 580 8516 and paying a £20 registration fee. Alternatively, email your contact details to rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk or fill out our form here and someone from the Foundation will contact you to arrange payment to secure your place.
The Big Ibrox Sleep Outs will once again highlight the issue of homelessness and raise funds for the Foundation and this season’s projects with Simon Community Scotland and Glasgow City Mission.
This season, we are supporting Glasgow City Mission’s new Housing First project, which is turning traditional solutions to homeless accommodation on their head in a bid to break the destructive cycle of homelessness.
The Sleep Outs will also support an innovative new project from the Simon Community Scotland called Street Cycles, an outreach service staffed by volunteers on bicycles.
For the second year running, the Foundation is delighted that Rangers kit sponsor 32Red has pledged its generous support to the Foundation and to every fan taking part in the Sleep Outs.
The online betting company will once again kick-start every participant’s fundraising by donating their first £10 of sponsorship and will sponsor the fantastic hot breakfast provided for everyone in the morning after the event.
Every participant is asked to raise a minimum of £100 to join the Big Sleep Out and by doing so they will also become a True Blue Hero and be invited to a special reception to receive a True Blue Hero medal from a Rangers first team player next year.
To find out more, or to sign up to take part in the additional Big Ibrox Sleep Outs event on Saturday December 2 contact the Foundation on 0141 580 8775 or e-mail rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk. Participants must by 16 years of age or older.
