Dream Fund Children’s Christmas Party
Tue 10th December 2024
Rangers players Jefté, Robbie Fraser and Mason Munn made a surprise visit to the Rangers Charity Foundation’s Dream Fund Children’s Christmas Party at Ibrox yesterday and met dozens of kids in need of a boost.
The party provides some festive fun to kids nominated via the Foundation’s own Dream Fund as well as organisations such as Robin House Children’s Hospice, The John O’Byrne Foundation, Brightest Star & Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
With plenty of food and entertainment, including meeting Santa, magic show, face painting and pictures with Broxi Bear as well as the players, it was a magical afternoon for both the children and their parents.
Everyone went home with special memories, a gift and a special card signed by the players.
Party guest Junior, 6, who has aortic stenosis with a bicuspid valve which requires regular checks at the Children’s Hospital said:
“The best part was meeting the Rangers players. It made me feel really happy.”
The Rangers Charity Foundation’s Dream Fund organises special Rangers experiences throughout the season for children and adults whose lives have been impacted by serious illness, disability, bereavement or other challenging circumstances.
Experiences include meeting the first team and watching training, the Children’s Christmas party, matchday hospitality experiences and signed letters, photos and goodie bags.
Mum Ruth, whose son Mason attended the party said:
My son had a fabulous time at the party. He is a big Rangers fan and is often up at Glasgow at the Children’s Hospital where he recently had his pacemaker replaced. He took part in Broxi’s Challenge to raise funds for the Charity Foundation and got his True Blue Hero medal. The Foundation helps us in so many different ways so it is such as worthwhile cause.”
Emma, mum of Carter, 5, said:
“There’s not much out there for visually impaired kids and he loves football but going to the games is a bit overwhelming for him so to come to something like this and meet the players is really special.”
Arlene Smith, Founder at Brightest Star commented:
“It is such a privilege for Brightest Star to be given the opportunity to send our families to the Rangers Charity Christmas Party.
“Christmas is such a difficult time for families who have lost their brother/sister/mum or dad. Each child is missing someone so close to them at Christmas so to see the smiles on their faces when they receive their invite is the most heart warming experience.
This is an unforgettable experience for all Brightest Stars families and we are forever grateful to the Rangers Charity Foundation for all of their love and support.”
