ANNUAL REVIEW 2023/24

We were able to champion and assist a range of local, national and international charity partners, including Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, the British Heart Foundation and UNICEF UK, as well as a range of armed forces and homeless charities.

During the year, our work in the community, which now spans 23 different programmes and initiatives, reached over 7,400 people. Our total hours of cumulative community programme delivery equated to programmes taking place 24 hours a day for 518 days!

An extensive suite of employability programmes for young people were delivered throughout the year, with our dedicated staff working hard to help participants achieve both SQA Awards and positive destinations. During the season, we achieved the milestone of issuing our 1000th SQA award.

Our Cashback For Communities – Towards New Futures programme was also hugely successful, exceeding all goals relating to achievement and impact for participants and even reaching 53% more vulnerable people than expected.

Almost 4,000 primary school pupils across Glasgow have benefited from a range of tailored educational programmes focused upon health and wellbeing and diversity and inclusion delivered by our inspiring community coaches.

Under our Healthy Lives banner, we continued to make a difference to the wellbeing of people of all ages. 123 adults lost a collective total of over 519kg thanks to our Football Fans in Training initiative. Our mental health and wellbeing programme provision grew with Team Talk Football added to our ongoing virtual Team Talk programme and The Changing Room. A total of 127 men benefitted from Team Talk alone over the course of the season and our full-time trauma counsellor continued to make a huge difference to our community programme participants in need of additional support.

We carried out internal upgrades on the Ibrox Community Complex as well as delivering a fantastic new 3G pitch for the facility, following securement of the long-term lease the previous season. We are now delivering a range of programmes from this facility and the centre is also available for other community groups and members of the public to book and use.

Our Dream Fund initiative continues to make a massive difference to those who need it most by providing letters of support from first team players and special Dream Fund experiences to fans affected by illness, bereavement, disability and other challenges.

As always, the Rangers Family has shown us an incredible amount of support, attending our events, taking on personal challenges, purchasing exclusive Foundation merchandise and taking part in our auctions and raffles.

Foundation Chief Executive Connal Cochrane commented: “It has been a year of strategic success and sustained impact for the Rangers Charity Foundation, and I am incredibly proud of the work we have done over the last year.  There is no doubt the Foundation is a source of inspiration and help for so many people in our local community and beyond.

“Thank you to our supporters, partners, volunteers, friends, funders and programme participants who have helped us achieve so much for so many people.”
