Annual Review 2020/21

Mon 11th October 2021

We’ve just published our new Annual Review for last season and it’s full of great news about the work we do, key facts and figures and examples of the amazing impact your Foundation has had on our community and the wider world.

We are a Foundation for: Potential; Healthy Lives; Everyone and Anyone; A Better World; Dreams; Giving and Our Local Community. This year, our highlights have been displayed under these seven key pillars, allowing you to see how these come to life in our work and connect together.

Despite an unusual year with the pandemic, we have continued to expand and have provided an unprecedented number of employability programmes for young people throughout the year, with our staff working tirelessly to support routes into positive destinations, deliver SQA awards and help many secure jobs.

We have been able to champion and assist a range of local, national and international charity partners with financial support, including: Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity; Glasgow City Mission; Children 1st; Unicef UK and a range of armed forces charities.

From our Big Sleep Out from Home, to our Simply The Best Night In, to badge sales and the Champions Challenge, the way in which the Rangers Family has responded to our adapted fundraising events and activities has been second to none.

During the year, we delivered over 20 community programmes reaching over 5,500 people of all ages. From Autism Friendly Football and Visually Impaired Football, to our Wider Achievement programme and new Team Talk mental wellbeing initiative, we are changing lives in the community for the better!

Our Annual Review also details how we’ve coped with the effects of Covid-19 and helped people through these unprecedented times. We’ve worked hard to respond to the needs of the community throughout the pandemic,  producing a series of Charity Challenge skills videos which were sent out weekly to our Autism Friendly Football and Visually Impaired Football participants while face to face sessions weren’t possible, sharing monthly Football Memories videos, featuring Rangers Legends, ensuring that programme participants were still able to reminisce about their favourite team at home, sending out kids’ activity worksheets and donating to Unicef’s global Covid-19 vaccination drive.

Of course, we couldn’t have done it without you, our supporters.  Thank you to everyone who has helped us achieve so much over the last year!

Foundation Director Connal Cochrane commented,

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks on behalf of everyone at the Rangers Charity Foundation for such amazing support and pay continued tribute to the generosity and trust given to us by our many funders and partners.

Despite the undoubted challenges faced during the year, I am very proud that our mission and our ability to be a force for good for others has remained steadfast.

I hope that you will enjoy reading, and feel inspired by all the wonderful activities and achievements shared in this Annual Review.”
