We know that taking on a new fundraising challenge can be quite daunting - so we want to help! On this page you'll find a selection of tips and ideas, which will help you along your journey, and engage your audience in the best way possible!

 

ONLINE FUNDRAISING

A simple way to fundraise is to set up and personalise an online fundraising page. We recommend JustGiving as it will only take a few minutes and will get the donations coming in straight away.

Setting up your page couldn’t be easier:

Step 1 – Head to www.justgiving.com

Step 2 – Follow the instructions to set up your page and select Rangers Charity Foundation as your charity.

Step 3 – Choose your fundraising target (the higher it is, the more people we can help) and your page title.

Step 4 – Tell people why you are fundraising for RCF and how their donation will make a difference.

Step 5 – Once your page is set up, email the link to friends, family and colleagues, link to your Facebook page and tweet your link!

Be sure to personalise your page with photos and say why you are supporting the Rangers Charity Foundation. Please let us know if you are having any problems setting up your page and we will be happy to help!

Paper Sponsor Forms are available at the back of the fundraising pack if you want to fundraise offline– they’re great to pass around your work or leave on a staff noticeboard.

 

BE THE FIRST!

By donating to your own supporter page you are showing your commitment to your fundraising and setting the benchmark for other donations.

 

REMEMBER TO INCLUDE PICTURES OF YOURSELF

People want to see who they are donating to. This also helps potential donors to have a stronger connection with your cause.

 

UPDATE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE!

Keep your donors and potential donors updated with your progress, how is the fundraising going? What obstacles have you come across, what are you really enjoying etc.

 

TELL YOUR STORY

Let supporters know WHY you are doing what you are doing, they want to know – share your passion.

 

IF YOU HIT YOUR TARGET, OR YOU ARE CLOSE TO REACHING IT – INCREASE IT

If people think you are close to meeting your target they may not donate the £25 they were going to if you are only £10 off your goal. Pages with targets receive 46% more than those without.

 

THANK YOUR DONORS

Let them know their donation has been noticed and appreciated.

 

SHARE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER AND/OR INSTAGRAM

Those that share their fundraising page 10 times or more raise significantly more than those who don’t. If someone isn’t able to donate, ask them to do the same, every share helps.

 

FINALLY – ASK AGAIN!

People often need reminding, if you asked them once and they haven’t donated – ask again, they may have just forgotten and won’t begrudge a friendly reminder. And don’t be afraid to ask after you’ve completed your event, almost 20% of donations come in after the challenge is over!

Ask for Sponsorship just after pay day when everyone is feeling a bit better off.

 

MATCH FUNDING

If you work for a larger company, ask your HR department about their charity policy- corporate match funding is a great way of boosting your fundraising total!

 

GIFT AID

Make sure you ask your sponsors to include Gift Aid if they are a UK Tax Payer. It adds 25% extra to the amount they give you – That’s an extra £1 for every £4 donated, which makes a massive difference.
