Ready For Employment 50+
Our Ready For Employment programme provides employment support for over 50s in Glasgow, helping local people improve their job prospects. We run it in partnership with Jobcentre Plus. This initiative delivers an individualised training programme designed to develop skills, confidence, and relevant experience.
Who Can Join?
The programme is for anyone over 50 who is unemployed or looking to upskill. Employment support over 50s in Glasgow is at the heart of our approach. We provide tailored training to help participants gain the skills they need.
Courses last between three and six weeks. Regular attendance helps participants adjust to a work schedule while improving their confidence. The structured format encourages good habits that prepare them for long-term employment.
Skills and Qualifications
Workshops cover a wide range of essential skills. Participants can gain SQA qualifications and take part in modules such as:
- CV Building
- First Aid and Mental Health First Aid
- Practical Application and IT Skills
- Communication and Interview Techniques
- Employer Expectations
These workshops boost employability and personal resilience. Many participants find these skills useful in other areas of life, too. They leave the course feeling more prepared for work.
Employer Partnerships
We work closely with employers to provide hands-on experience and industry insights. Some participants may even secure a long-term placement or full-time job at the end of the programme. These employer connections also create networking opportunities, increasing job prospects.
Health, Wellbeing, and Confidence
Physical activity and wellbeing support are key programme features. We encourage participants to take control of their personal development. A positive mindset helps them re-enter the job market with confidence.
Ongoing Support After the Programme
Employment support over 50s in Glasgow doesn’t stop when the course ends. Ready For Employment offers an aftercare service, allowing participants to return weekly for continued support. They can access resources and guidance to help with job searches. This ongoing support ensures they stay motivated and have the best chance of finding lasting employment.
