EFDN: Diversity Wins – Show Racism The Red Card
Our Diversity Wins – Show Racism The Red Card initiative delivers workshops around racism, discrimination and gender equality issues in schools under the Diversity Wins banner, aiming to foster social cohesion and reduce physical and verbal abuse linked to racism and discrimination.
The programme also provides specialist teacher and coach training on the same topics, ensuring teachers and coaches can build upon the messages delivered during the sessions.
Each interactive workshop combines classroom-based activities with a 45 minute physical activity session and will be delivered to over 400 pupils across eight schools in Glasgow in the first five -week block alone. Along side this, Diversity Wins – Show Racism The Red Card will be delivered to several local grass roots teams.
The Show Racism The Red Card initiative is co-funded by the European Union, and is run in partnership with the European Football for Development Network, Club Brugge, Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen plus many more additional partners.
Rangers Charity Foundation Chief Executive, Connal Cochrane, said:
“We’re proud to have helped develop this powerful initiative, which will reach right across Europe.”
“The Foundation is committed to promoting diversity, equality and inclusion throughout its community work, as well as supporting other initiatives such as the club’s Everyone Anyone campaign.”
