British Heart Foundation Matchday Takeover
Wed 21st February 2024
The Foundation has arranged a special ‘matchday takeover’ this Saturday for our National Charity Partner, British Heart Foundation Scotland (BHF).
Throughout the day, there will be special activities designed to celebrate National Heart Month and the work of the UK’s leading heart charity, as well as highlighting heart health and the importance of learning life-saving CPR skills.
The Rangers First Team will wear BHF t-shirts during the warm-up and BHF videos will be shown on the Jumbotrons throughout the day. There will also be a can collection for the charity pre-match and a special appearance on the pitch from BHF’s mascot, Hearty.
12-year-old Scarlett Dougan, who was born with half a heart, will lead the teams out as one of the matchday mascots, and supporters will be able to have their blood pressure checked for free by a team of junior medical doctors, clinical research fellows, nurses and medical students from Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and University of Glasgow in the Fan Zone and around the Stadium ahead of the game.
There will also be information on hand about heart health and how to learn CPR for free thanks to the BHF’s RevivR on-line tool. RevivR makes it quick and easy to learn CPR in just 15 minutes and aims to give people the skills and confidence they need to save a life. Check it out HERE.
