Foundation helping people get Ready4Employment
Fri 6th October 2017
Our latest group of Ready4Employment participants have been out on their first work placement this week, learning about the hospitality industry at the Go Glasgow Urban Hotel.
Ready4Employment aims to improve the job prospects of local people in partnership with Jobcentre Plus by delivering an individualised training programme to help develop their skills, confidence and relevant experience.
Over the six week course, participants attend four full days of activity every week, helping them adjust to a work timetable and developing their skills and experience.
Workshops on the course include a skills and strengths audit, CV building, IT and communication skills and interview techniques. Work placements are also planned with a variety of other employers in the coming weeks.
Employability is a growing priority for the Foundation. We are working hard to expand the opportunities for people to join our programmes, and with key partners, help them overcome barriers to gaining and sustaining employment.
A Ready4Employment course we ran earlier this year saw every participant go on to gain a job or college place.
The course is just one of over 20 programmes that the Foundation delivers in the Glasgow area. As well as employability, our programmes are connected to health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion and education. Together they reach more than 5,000 people.
We wish everyone good luck taking part on the current Ready4Employment course and we look forward to hearing their plans at course graduation in a few weeks!

October is Big Hearted Bears Month – throughout the month the Foundation will be highlighting the work it does on behalf of the Rangers Family, including the charity partnerships we have and the community programmes we run. We are also asking supporters to take the True Blue Hero Pledge of committing to raise £100 or more during Season 2017/18 by taking on a personal challenge. For more information, and to take the pledge visit here.
