Edinburgh Marathon Places Up For Grabs
Thu 11th January 2018
If you missed out on a ballot place at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, you still have a chance to take part thanks to the Foundation’s charity assured places in the event.
The ballot is now closed for the full marathon, but you can run for the Foundation and be guaranteed a place in this iconic race by signing up here. All we ask is that you raise a minimum of £400 in sponsorship and we will pay for your place and provide you with sponsor forms and a Rangers Charity Foundation running vest.
If the full marathon doesn’t appeal, the Festival has something for everyone including a half marathon, junior races, mascot races, a relay race and a wheelchair race. It’s an incredible festival of running over an entire weekend, with an amazing atmosphere not to be missed!
The Edinburgh marathon was also voted the fastest marathon in the UK, so it is a great race to enter if you want a personal best time! The route is typically picturesque with this year’s course starting in the city centre in the grounds of one of the oldest Universities in the world. Participants will run past Greyfriars Bobby, the National Museum of Scotland, the Scottish National Gallery and Princes Street Gardens, with the iconic Edinburgh Castle as a stunning backdrop.
The route also takes in the Scott Monument, the historic Royal Mile, the Scottish Parliament building and the Palace of Holyrood, before heading for Musselburgh and a beautiful coastal finishing stretch!
If you are interested in taking part in one of the Marathon festival events on behalf of the Rangers Charity Foundation and becoming a True Blue Hero, sign up on the Edinburgh Marathon Festival Website. Once you have done so, please get in touch with us by calling 0141 580 8775 or emailing rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk and we will send you a sponsor form. If you are applying for a full marathon place, you will need to do this via the charity places page here.
Every single person who raises £100 or more for us will become a True Blue Hero, and be invited along to an exclusive reception at Ibrox to receive a badge and medal from a first team player.
