The Rangers Charity Foundation has donated over £1000 to Glasgow’s very own ‘Dream Team’ who come from as far afield as Sierra Leone, Kenya and the Ivory Coast.to help with league costs for the season. Since it was formed, the team has gone from strength to strength and are currently joint second in the Scottish Unity Football League with a game in hand.

Club Chairman Adam Paterson said:

“Afroscots Dreams United FC would like to say a massive thank you to Rangers Charity Foundation for supporting us with a warmly welcomed donation which will enable us to pay our pitch hire and referee fees for the 2022-23 SUFL league season.

“As many of our players are from asylum-seeking, ethnic minority, and low-income backgrounds, we don’t ask them to contribute any fees to the running costs of the team, which is why donations like this one are so important, as they enable us to continue to provide our talented group of young players with opportunities to showcase their talents and progress within professional football in Scotland.”

Last season, the Foundation provided a set of kit to Afroscots Dreams United, which includes survivors from the Park Inn stabbing incident in Glasgow in 2020. More on this story here
