Sleep Outs Raise £50K and Counting!

Wed 6th December 2017

This year’s Big Ibrox Sleep Outs have already smashed last year’s total, raising an amazing £50,000 – and counting!

There’s still money to come in from sponsor forms, but already the Foundation and its supporters have achieved an incredible total to help homeless projects in our city.

Funds raised are being split three ways between Glasgow City Mission’s Housing First project, the Simon Community’s Street Cycles initiative and the Foundation’s own work in the community.

The Simon Community Scotland have purchased 5 bicycles and have trained 17 Street Cycles volunteers thanks to our support for the new Street Cycles project.  The team are ready to reach out to people sleeping in hard to reach places, and will be taking with them sleeping bags and toiletries donated by supporters at the Sleep Outs.

Glasgow City Mission will also benefit from the items donated by fans.  People using the Winter Night Shelter and the daytime drop-in services are extremely grateful for the support.

Thank you to everyone who took part, and all their sponsors, including 32Red Sport. A big thank you to our volunteer photographers too, Frank, Cindy, Ross and Ronnie, who took some fantastic shots over the three nights, which you can see here.
