Connal's Munro Challenge

Rangers Charity Foundation Manager Connal Cochrane set himself the challenge in 2008 of climbing 100 Munros over the course of the year to raise funds for the Rangers Charity Foundation and the Beatson Translational Research Centre.

Connal raised over £7,000 from the challenge, which he did as a tribute to the memory of his Mum Phyllis, who died in 2004 after a 7 year battle with cancer.  A further £9,000 was raised by a sponsored walk up Ben Lomond with Rangers fans and staff.

Friends and colleagues joined Connal on various climbs over the course of the year and he enjoyed Scotland’s stunning scenery at its best and some amazing views from the top of the mountains – as well as a few challenging climbs in snow and rain!

Connal commented: “It was a daunting challenge, especially during the winter when the weather was an issue at times, but I really enjoyed it too and am delighted with the amount raised for the Rangers Charity Foundation and for the new Beatson Translational Research Centre.”
